Community Safety Alert – Derelict Buildings

Hello,

We have received reports of children and young people entering derelict and abandoned buildings in the local area.

These sites can be very dangerous and may contain:

• Unsafe or collapsing structures
• Weak floors and roofs
• Broken glass and sharp materials
• Hidden hazards and hazardous substances

Even if a building appears empty, it is not safe to enter. Parents and carers are encouraged to speak with young people about these risks and remind them to stay away from such locations.

Please report any concerns, including:

• Damaged fencing or easy access points
• Signs of trespassing or suspicious activity
